Bout of Books 8.0
I've been sitting on the fence about whether or not to join the Bout of Books read-a-thon. I love a good read-a-thon and I have always enjoyed this one but the timing isn't exactly great for me. But as I thought about it a bit, I thought that's a good thing. Amidst the craziness of getting ready for back to school and hosting a family barbecue, this will make sure that I get in some good reading. So here goes:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team.
My goals
I typically read 2-3 books a week, so this time I'm going to aim for 4 books. My choices right now are:

Wow, 4 books in a week? I usually manage 1 and a bit per week so I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteIt's not what I usually do, but I think if I can manage it, it will definitely encourage me to read more.
DeleteGood luck at hitting your 4 books! About a Girl looks like fun. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm excited about About a Girl, it sounds great.
DeleteThis sounds great. And, oh, how I loved Emancipation Day. Hope you enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling I'm going to love it. The moment I read the blurb I knew it was one I'd have to read.
DeleteI have a good feeling that you'll smash your goal ;) I'm glad you're joining in BoB. I am too and it's my first time :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you enjoy your first time, it's a fantastic read-a-thon. Good luck to you!
DeleteHope you enjoy your reads this week. I am looking forward to another BoB, one of my favorite readathons! Here are my Bout of Books goals and hope you'll stop by.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favourite read-a-thons too. I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteLooks like a nice and light selection, overall. Hope you get them all read! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteHA! I read "I've been sitting on the fence" as "I've been sitting on my face" and all I could think was JEEZ THAT MUST HURT. I'll stop thinking now.
ReplyDeleteSoooo, YAY READ-A-THONNER! Barbeques, back-to-school shenanigans and Bout of Books reading sounds like a good combination, if you ask me. Have a lovely reading (and everything else) week! :)
